According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by temporary gusty winds or thundershowers is likely to occur in some places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and in one or two places in Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions today.
There is also a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in some parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.
Winds are expected to blow from the south and southeast at a speed of 8 to 12 kilometers per hour in Dhaka today. The humidity in Dhaka's air today has been recorded at 98 percent.
Tomorrow, Saturday, many places in Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Dhaka divisions may experience temporary gusty winds. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at some places. Day and night temperatures may increase slightly across the country tomorrow as well.
Although there will be no significant change in the country's weather on Sunday, the day temperature may drop slightly and the night temperature may remain almost unchanged. On Monday, the country may also experience similar rainfall and the day and night temperatures may drop slightly.
The extended five-day weather forecast says that the trend of rainfall is likely to continue in the country.
The Meteorological Department said that the axis of the monsoon is currently extending from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal to central Bangladesh and Assam. An extension of it extends to the north Bay of Bengal. Currently, the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and is prevailing in moderate conditions in the north Bay of Bengal.
